Projection Quantum Monte-Carlo

We have implemented a projection T=0 fixed node QMC method. Our work has focussed on applying this method to the calculation of properties of the alkali-doped Fullerenes, in particular the study of metal-insulator transitions and screening properties.

In terms of the technical improvement, we have developed
a) a correlated sampling method which allows an efficient minimization of the total energy in a variational QMC with respect to the Gutzwiller parameters
b) an efficient trial function for the treatment of Hubbard-like models close to a metal-antiferromagnetic insulator transition.
