Atomic structure and electronic state of metallic glasses.

Fujiwara T.

The authors calculate the structure of metallic alloy glasses by constructing the structural models for Fe-P, Fe-B and Cu-Zr and the electronic structures calculated in these constructed model structures. They point out the importance of the size difference of constituent atomic spheres and the interaction range of the atomic potentials for understanding the characteristic structure of respective metallic alloy glasses. The strong d-p or d-d hybridization can be seen in the calculated electronic structure.
