The relativistic self-consistent LMTO method was used to calculate the optical properties or the hcp Sd metals Hf, Re and Os. The complex dielectric function, optical conductivity and electron energy loss spectra were calculated in the energy range from 0 to 30 eV for the two polarizations of the electromagnetic field e parallel-to c and e perpendicular-to c. The calculated spectra are in a good agreement with available experimental data.
