At Autobahnkreuz Stuttgart (the Stuttgart motorway interchange, exit 51, Vaihingen), take the A831, direction «Stuttgart-Mitte».

Leave at the «Universität» exit.

At the traffic lights on the bridge, turn left, direction «Universität».

Follow Universitätsstraße, then turn right into Nobelstraße.

At the end of Nobelstraße (roundabout), turn right into Büsnauer Straße (first exit).

After a few hundred meters, you will see the Max-Planck-Institute building on the left.

From Stuttgart Airport, take lines S2 or S3 of the Underground («S-Bahn»), directions «Schorndorf» or «Backnang». Get off at Vaihingen and change to bus line 81 (direction «Büsnau») and get off at «Max-Planck-Institute».

From Stuttgart Airport, take lines S2 or S3 of the Underground («S-Bahn»), directions «Schorndorf» or «Backnang». Get off at Universität and change to bus line 84 (direction «Sindelfingen/Vaihingen Bahnhof») or bus line 92 (direction «Leonberg/ZOB Stuttgart Hbf») and get off at «Max-Planck-Institute».

Public transport from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof (main-line station)

Take lines S1, S2 or S3 of the Underground («S-Bahn»), in the direction of «Herrenberg» or «Flughafen».

      Get off at Vaihingen and change to bus line 81 (direction «Büsnau») and get off at
      «Max-Planck-Institute».
      (At Vaihingen station you can also take a taxi to the «Max-Planck-Institute».)

      Get off at Universität and change to bus line 84 (direction «Sindelfingen/Vaihingen
      Bahnhof») or bus line 92 (direction «Leonberg/ZOB Stuttgart Hbf») and get off at
