Lecture 'Advanced Condensed Matter Physics 2'

The lecture 'Advanced Condensed Matter Physics' is a 2 semester course in the first year of the international program Master of Science in Physics at the University of Stuttgart. In the first semester we will get an overview on theoretical and experimental methods of solid state physics. In the second semester more specialized topics will be discussed.

After finishing this course, you will be able to

describe, motivate and use theoretical concepts of solid state physics to describe condensed matter
describe and motivate experiments to measure properties of condensed matter
independently acquire understanding on subjects in solid state physics and to
independently solve problems connected with these subjects.

Organization

The lecture is on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:45 to 11:15 in room 3.332 of the physics building (NWZ II), Pfaffenwaldring 57. We will discuss the solution to the weekly exercises in smaller groups, meeting weekly at a place and time that we will identify in the first lectures.
