Model study of antiferromagnetism in high-Tc superconducting oxides.

The antiferromagnetic ground state in high-Tc superconducting oxides (HTSO) is studied with a two-band model Hamiltonian by using a Hartree-Fock approximation and the Gutzwiller ansatz. It is found that the magnetic moments of Cu atoms and the antiferromagnetic gap agree well with the available experimental data for HTSO.
